Exactly one month ago, I registered for the Rock n’ Roll Vancouver Half Marathon.

I didn’t know what I was getting myself into but fast forward to now and I FEEL GREAT and know I have made the right decision!
If it wasn’t for my buddy, Andrew, for pushing me to register and keeping me accountable for my runs, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
The race is in less than two weeks and I’m starting to feel a lot of different emotions, mainly a combination of nervousness, excitement, and stress (the good kind!).
Yesterday, my heart was pounding quickly when I received the email from the Rock n’ Roll team requesting to sign and confirm our registration because it meant that THIS WAS STARTING TO GET REAL. It was a scary yet somewhat life defining moment for me!
I’m happy to say that I LOVE running more than hate it. It’s really a mental thing… once you get past the “ugh, I rather eat ice cream and sit on the sofa” stage, things start to get better and YOU start to get better and better. After that, you’re hitting 15kms like it’s nobody’s deal.
Speaking of which, we ran 15.5 km on Sunday which was our longest run yet!! That was a BIG win for me and I am looking forward to running our next long runs in prep for the race!
Eep, still getting jitters from typing this blog post – don’t know if it’s from waking up at 5:30am today to force myself to blog or writing about my love for RUNNING – heh, it’s probably the latter.
Talk soon and wish me good luck with the rest of my training!
